We are passionate about the benefits of a creative musical education. In our schools, making music gives a sense of shared achievement and supports positive mental health.

All children have the chance to learn an instrument, building creativity and self-esteem, while developing concentration and perseverance and teaching the value of practice.

The heart of our music Curriculum is the Kapow programme, which offers exciting and diverse music lessons, linked to the wider curriculum. All children get the chance to perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across historical periods, styles and traditions.

Our children work together to develop and perform concerts and performances, allowing them to showcase their musical achievements. Children also take part in city-wide music initiatives, such as working with Manchester Camerata to create and perform original compositions, visiting Manchester University to learn about modern and traditional music of the Arab world, and experiencing classical and modern music at the Bridgewater Hall.
