Welcome to 3JJ!
I am Miss Jackson, the Year 3 class teacher, and will be supported this year by Miss Cavanagh.
We are excited to teach your children in the upcoming academic terms and aim to make learning engaging and interesting for everyone. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to your children’s learning; we truly appreciate it.

This term in English we will be learning about Greek myths and writing an adventure narrative!
In our Guided Reading lessons, we will look at a range of text and question types encouraging pupils to read a broad selection of genres and styles. Please can you encourage children to read regularly at home and record this in their reading record.
In Maths, we will be consolidating knowledge of times tables and multiplication and division. Please continue to focus on learning the 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables.
In Science, we will first cover Forces and Magnets before moving on to learning about Animals including Humans.
This term in History our unit will be on Ancient Greece and we will be going to Manchester Art Gallery to learn more about Ancient Greek art and stories.
In Geography, we will learn all about Europe. This links to our DT topic of seasonal foods where we will be cooking! In Art, we will be creating our own sculptures.
Homework will be given out each Friday to be returned the following Friday. There will be one piece of either maths or English that links to current learning.
This half term, PE will be on Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons for both classes. School PE kit consists of a plain white t-shirt, black hoodie and plain black shorts or tracksuit bottoms and trainers or pumps. Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit to bring into school on their PE day.
